about usAdvocacy

The Hudson Valley MCA advocates from Washington to White Plains on behalf of the mechanical contracting industry.

The association is a firm proponent of prevailing wage and public bidding laws, and actively supports legislation which keeps these laws strong, and opposes those efforts which seek to weaken them. It also supports building codes that reflect the best industry practices, as well as licensing laws that protect the public health and safety.

Currently, the MCA is in opposition to a bill in Albany which would allow school districts to hire a single contractor for work on school district facilities regardless of the amount of the contract. The Senate bill number is S5559-B sponsored by Sen. Suzi Oppenheimer (D- Larchmont). The Assembly bill is A08777-B and can be accessed by going to http://www.assembly.state.ny.us and keying in the bill numbers.
